Privacy Notice

This site is a free, open-source library of engineering interview handbooks. We keep data collection to a minimum and never sell or share personal data.

What we collect

No cookies until you choose. When you first visit, a small banner asks whether you accept analytics. Google Analytics loads on every page, but under Google Consent Mode it starts in a denied state — meaning it sets no cookies and cannot identify you until you opt in.

If you click Decline (or ignore the banner), analytics stays cookieless: no cookies are set and no identifiers are used. Only anonymous, aggregated signals may be sent.
If you click Accept, Google Analytics 4 switches to full measurement to help us understand which handbooks are useful and how the site is used.

Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage so you are not asked again.

Cookies

We do not use any cookies for advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking.

The site itself (built with Astro and Starlight) sets no cookies at all.
No cookies are set until you accept analytics. Before that, Google Analytics runs in Google Consent Mode’s cookieless state.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets its own cookies to measure usage. IP addresses are anonymized (anonymize_ip).

Local storage (functional, no tracking)

To make the site work the way you expect, we use a small amount of your browser’s local storage. This stays on your device, is never sent to a server, and is not used to identify or track you:

starlight-theme — remembers your light/dark theme choice.
sl-sidebar-state — remembers which navigation sections you expanded.
ih-consent — remembers your analytics choice so we don’t ask again.

These are strictly functional and you can clear them at any time via your browser settings.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

If you accept, aggregated, anonymized usage data (such as pages viewed, approximate region, device type, and referrer) is processed by Google as our analytics provider. We use this only to improve the content. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors.

You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which resets the banner so you can choose again.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare may process visitors’ IP addresses in server logs to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. This is standard, security-related processing and is not used for tracking.

Your rights

If you are in a jurisdiction with data-protection rights (such as the EU/EEA under GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data, and to object to processing. Because this site collects no account data and only optional, anonymized analytics, there is typically nothing for us to hold about you.
